Students can bring 32-bar cuts of TWO musical theatre college audition songs, and accompaniment tracks, and John will pick which to work on to focus on song performance. Students should bring headshot and resume and wear comfortable clothing.

Raymond Sage received a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Baylor University and a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), followed by doctoral and post-graduate work also at CCM. Before joining the musical theatre voice faculty at Penn State, Sage was on the voice and musical theatre faculties of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' prestigious musical theatre conservatory, CAP 21. His students have been seen in many Broadway productions, such as Follies, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, Steel Pier, High Society, Cats, Scarlet Pimpernel, and many more.
John Simpkins is Head of Musical Theatre at Penn State University, and the director of the three-time Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway production of Bloodsong of Love: The Rock and Roll Spaghetti Western (by Tony nominee Joe Iconis) at Ars Nova. He also directed Iconis' The Black Suits at Center Theatre Group (Kirk Douglas Theatre - starring Annie Golden, Will Roland, Veronica Dunne). Prior to joining Penn State, he was a member of the faculty at NYU - where he directed Sweet Smell of Success, Floyd Collins, A Man of No Importance, The Fix, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Violet, Urinetown, Merrily We Roll Along, Parade, Fiorello! and A New Brain.
