11:45a-1:45p Song Audition Master Class with Vicky Bussert, Director of Musical Theatre

Bring 32-bar cuts of TWO of your musical theatre college audition songs and Vicky will pick which to work on. A live accompanist will be provided, so please bring sheet music of your two cutsBring headshot and resume and wear comfortable clothing or remain in dance attire.

Saturday Evening (Optional) Attend the Great Lakes Theater production of Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 featuring several current BW students and recent grads, and stick around afterward for a quick meet & greet!

Parents may observe both classes and overview and attend the campus tour / Q&As

 

Vicky Bussert is the dynamic, energetic director of the musical theatre program at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music near Cleveland. Vicky divides her time between an active career as an award-winning free-lance director while holding her position at BW. As a professional director, her show biz connections keep her “on trend” in the world of musical theatre. Her direct, honest evaluation of student technique and styling is always profoundly valuable.  Students find her inspiring and a true joy to work with.

Gregory Daniels, Dance Program Coordinator, will lead a musical theatre styled dance combo in a workshop format. As a professional dancer and choreographer, Greg has performed in regional theaters from coast to coast and in national tours of Broadway shows. Greg conducts the dance portion of the BW Musical theatre audition and is known for making it fun while demanding the best from each student.

Participants are invited to attend the Saturday night production of Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 and meet the cast afterwards. Tickets are available for purchase later this spring from the Great Lakes Theater Box Office at the Hanna Theatre downtown. Call 216-241-6000 or visit their website here. If you with to see the production at Great Lakes Theater you are responsible for purchasing your own tickets and securing transportation to the playhouse (approximately a 20-25m drive).
